Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos Platinum Trophy Information

Current Status of Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos

As of late 2025, information about a Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos platinum trophy remains limited. The available reference material primarily discusses Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition rather than its sequel.

According to community discussions, PM Studios has been announced as the new North American physical publisher for both Croc Legend of the Gobbos and Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos. Additionally, Strictly Limited Games will publish the physical version of both titles in Europe. These announcements confirm that Croc 2 is receiving attention from publishers, though specific details about trophy implementation have not been disclosed in the available sources.

Lessons from Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition

The first Croc game provides context for what PlayStation users might expect. Publisher Argonaut Games and developers Titanium Studios and Big Boat Interactive released a “Platinum Edition” update for Croc: Legend of the Gobbos that addressed trophy limitations.

The original Croc: Legend of the Gobbos remaster launched without enough trophies to qualify for a PlayStation platinum trophy. According to the developers’ explanation, “When we initially launched the Croc: Legend of the Gobbos remaster, we didn’t include enough trophies to qualify for the Platinum trophy on PlayStation. And it’s not permitted to simply fix this with a patch.”

The solution required releasing a new version with a comprehensive trophy set, including 16 new trophies and the platinum trophy. This update rolled out differently across platforms: Switch, Xbox, and GOG received it as a standard update on October 16th, Steam received the update following approval, and PS4/PS5 received it as a new release on the same date.

Platform Distribution Details

For PlayStation users who owned the original Croc: Legend of the Gobbos digitally, the Platinum Edition arrived as a free upgrade, similar to receiving a free PS5 upgrade for a PS4 game. This meant existing owners received two versions of the game with up to four trophy lists available: old PS4, old PS5, new PS4, and new PS5.

New purchasers only see the Platinum Edition listing on digital storefronts, ensuring all new players receive the version with full trophy support.

Physical Edition Developments

Physical editions for both Croc games are in development. The delayed physical release of the first Croc game included the Platinum Edition version. Physical cartridges are being produced by multiple publishers across different regions, suggesting coordinated release plans for both titles in the series.
